What a great weekend for Viking Track & Field, bringing home 13 medals, a new school record in the girls 4x100 and a 3rd best overall time in school history in the girls 4x400m and after a 44 year layoff, Colton Baue makes two height progressions in the PV after only 2 years in that event for Wausa High School. It was just a great weekend of competition for all of our athletes. We were very pleased with how our kids competed on the big stage with veterans and first time competitors, they all did a great job! I just don’t have enough words for how proud I am of all of our athletes who competed in track and field for Wausa and the athletes who represented our team and school in Omaha for the State Track & Field meet. I am also really proud of our coaching staff who really worked hard every day in practice to make sure our athletes were ready to go for each competition! I am so blessed to have worked with these individuals, Kirk Hamm, Tanner Johnston, Joe Pfanstiel, and Julia Miller and I greatly appreciate all of their work and sacrifices throughout the season. I have always said, I am only the head coach on paper and the one who turns in our entries. We are all head coaches in what we do and we all have a hand in all of the decisions we make. It’s all a team effort and so proud of everything they do!

Well another season in the books as the 2025 Wausa Track & Field season has come to a close with so many exciting things to look back on and many more great things to look forward to!
