We kindly ask that students do not bring toys from home for recess or free time. We are seeing an increase in personal items coming to school, and this often leads to issues such as disagreements over sharing, hurt feelings, or items being lost or damaged.
Our school already provides a wide variety of fun and engaging options—toy trucks, barns, animals, footballs, volleyballs, T-ball equipment, cornhole, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, and much more. Students have plenty to choose from and enjoy.
Please help us by keeping toys at home so recess remains enjoyable and stress-free for everyone. If a toy from home is brought and becomes lost, it will be the child’s responsibility to locate it, as we are asking that these items not be brought to school.

📣 👀 Hearing, teamwork, communication… that’s how our 5th & 6th graders played Goalball today with Mr. Schindler in PE.
With blackout goggles, tactile court lines, and a ball filled with bells, students experienced what athletes who are blind or visually impaired take on every game.
They walked away with stronger listening skills, new appreciation for adaptive sports, and a whole lot of empathy. Proud of these Vikings! 💛
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Breaking the Habit! It has been a busy week for the Vikings as they held their annual Pop, Popcorn and a Play to a fantastic audience of family and friends, hosted area schools for their Swedish one act festival, and took top honors at the Lewis and Clark Conference Play Production Contest! The following students won acting honors at the Swedish one act festival: Gaven, Luke, Braydon, Tierney, Rogan, Jaxson, Emmie and Ainsley. The following students won Conference outstanding honors: Alijah, Gaven, Taylor, Braydon, Luke, Ainsley, Tierney, Gaven, Emmie, Rogan, Brady, Ashton. Braydon and Rogan also took home two of the four Overall Best performer awards! Congrats Wausa One Acts!

Congratulations to our own Braydon H as he advances to the Regional American Legion Oratory contest! He received a first place at the District 2 contest held in Niobrara this Sunday. He will compete in Albion on December 7th for a chance to compete at the State Oratory contest in January.
Veterans Day concert-Tuesday, November 11, 2025-in the Wausa Schools gymnasium at 10am. Veterans are welcome to lunch after the concert. Grades K-6 don't forget to dress in red, white, and blue. Reminder to get vet day pictures in today if you would like them displayed at the veterans luncheon afterwards. If you cannot make the concert it will be live-streamed on Hudl.

FBLA wants to thank you for donating food a total of 857.3 POUNDS of food! 200 of those pounds were donated by the Bloomfield Wind Farm. Half of the total will be at Knox County Food Pantry located at the Methodist Church in Bloomfield, the other half will be located inside of Wausa's public library!
Wausa Public Schools fielded a Junior Varsity Team (freshmen/sophomores) and a Varsity (juniors/seniors) Team at the Lewis and Clark Academic Contest held at Wayne State College. Both teams started strong but did not bring home any hardware. They represented WHS like the proud Vikings they are. Members are: Luke, Ainsley, Rogan, Hayden, Jaxson, Hallie, Jacob and Dawson.
The FBLA is trick or treating for canned goods or other long shelf life food items tonight at 7:00! If you are able to make a donation, just open the door or leave the food on your porch!
