They say everyday is a good day for golf! There were probably a few kids at RHCC that would have disagreed with you today. The Vikings still had a solid performance finishing 4th with Mason/4th, Remmington/13th, and Lincoln/17th bringing home hardware!

"Without music, life would be a mistake." — Friedrich Nietzsche. Wausa Music department is making the world a bit brighter as they fill it with amazing sound!

This month, our first graders had quite the surprise—a brand new classmate named Stanley! 😄
But Stanley isn’t your typical student… one morning, while he was fast asleep, a giant bulletin board fell right on top of him! Don’t worry—he wasn’t hurt, but he did wake up completely flat!
At first, it was a shock, but Stanley quickly realized being flat had some amazing perks. He could travel in ways no one else could—slipping into envelopes and heading off on adventures around town, across the state, and even around the world! 🌍✉️
While they didn’t actually gain a new student, their class dove into the story of Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown and completed a fun novel study together. For their final project, each student created their very own Flat Stanley, and Mrs. Moes sent him off on secret adventures—some around town and even to another country. He traveled to Commercial State Bank, Family 1st Dental, Wausa Medical Clinic, Big Red Mini Mart, Elite Diesel, and Carhart Lumber. He perused the streets of Wausa with Officer Boston, traveled with Mr. Hoesing to the Nebraska School Activities Association in Lincoln for some important meetings, and he even went on a vacation to Mexico! Also, we can’t forget that he studied abroad with Addison Wynia in the United Kingdom amongst the castles!
The excitement was contagious as the first graders eagerly waited to see where Stanley would go next. Each letter, photo, and story helped bring the world a little closer to our classroom. Through Stanley’s adventures, students discovered that even the simplest stories can take you anywhere—and that imagination has no limits. ✨📚

The FLBA State Leadership Conference participants took on Kearney last week! They competed through presentations and tests, listened to the key note speaker about perseverance and goal setting, and participated in workshops about business, leadership, and networking! No national qualifiers this year but they give it their all and had their own successes and growth!

The anatomy class applied their year of classroom learning to the anatomy lab at University of South Dakota. They said the best parts were getting to touch, move, and observe a real human and the part where the staff showed them normal and diseased organs.

✨ It was a GLOW-tastic day in 2nd grade math! ✨

Who knew math could glow like this?! Mrs. Anderson sure knows how to make learning fun!

The FBLA blood drive is today in the high school gym between 11:30 and 2:30! We currently have 10 donors signed up but we're hoping for 10 more!
https://lifeserve-donor.prod.forcytesp.com/schedule-donation?date=2026-04-21&operation_id=496516&operation_type=drives
Your donation helps the FBLA reach it's goal of 40 donations through our two events. If we reach that goal, we are able to give a $500 scholarship to the FBLA member who donates the most through their high school career. But we need your donation to get there!
