Our Stellar Tellers had an unforgettable day in Omaha!
They visited the Federal Reserve Bank where they attended a special financial literacy program. Acclaimed children’s author Julia Cook shared lessons on how to earn, spend, save, and give, reading from her book “I Am Money and I Don’t Grow on Trees.”
A big congratulations to Brooks Seagren, who was honored with the Outstanding Stellar Teller Award!
To top off the day, our generous partners at Commerical State Bank surprised our hardworking students with tickets to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo as a reward for their dedication all year long. What a stellar way to celebrate financial learning and student success!

“What a fantastic day at Kindergarten Round-Up!
We were thrilled to welcome our future kindergarten families into our school today!
Parents had the chance to meet our amazing staff, explore classrooms, and learn what to expect as their little ones begin this exciting new chapter.
From fun activities to helpful info sessions, the energy was full of smiles, curiosity, and excitement!
We can’t wait to see these bright young learners grow, explore, and thrive in kindergarten!

🐄🌾 Life on the Farm! 🌾🐖
Our third and fourth graders had an unforgettable day at the Knox County Fairgrounds, exploring all things agriculture during the Life on the Farm field trip! 🚜🐓 From learning about livestock to stepping inside a real cattle trailer, it was a hands-on adventure filled with curiosity, smiles, and lots of animal cuddles.
Did you know? 🥚🐔 Our third graders learned that in many chicken breeds, the color of a hen’s earlobes is a good indicator of the color of the eggs she will lay—how egg-citing is that?
Here’s what some of our students had to say:
💬 "My favorite part of the field trip was when we got to see the Highland cow because we got to touch its horns and pet it." – Anika
💬 "The baby lambs were very interesting to learn about. They're fast, and they can't live without another lamb!" – Riggs
💬 "I loved going inside the semi truck with the cattle trailer!" – Natalie
💬 "The horses were my favorite because I’ve been riding since I was 2!" – Raelynn
💬 "I liked the sheep because we got to shout out names for them!" – Brady
💬 "My favorite part of the field trip was the horses, because I got to touch them. The presenters taught us that every January they get one year older and have to go to the vet so they are able to compete in shows." – Adalyn
A big thank you to everyone who helped make this day a success! 🌽🐑

🌳🌱 Celebrating Arbor Day in Wausa! 🌱🌳
A big thank you to Bill Schumacher for visiting our students and leading a meaningful Arbor Day presentation!
Bill read the official 2025 Arbor Day Proclamation, explained the importance of planting and caring for trees, and shared exciting development plans for the Wausa Park.
Our fourth graders even got their hands dirty (in the best way!) by helping plant a tree in the park—leaving a lasting mark on our community. 🌲💚
🌟 Did you know? The oldest tree in Wausa is a cottonwood that's over 150 years old! What a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact trees can have.
We’re grateful for this opportunity to learn about stewardship, sustainability, and giving back to the place we call home.

Our 5th graders became published authors this week! Each student wrote a narrative about an extraordinary camera that brought to life any image that was captured! Students were able to share their stories during Author's Chair and order their own personal copy of the class book!

District Music is off with a bang!! Everything is sounding beautiful! Some solos and duets have went and the band is warming up!
