A huge THANK YOU Amy Johnson and Jared Gillilan as well as our local firefighters, EMS, and Officer Boston for spending time with our students and teaching them important lessons about staying safe!
Students learned about fire safety both at home and at school, including an important reminder about something many of us use every day: electronics need to charge on a hard, flat surface — not on a bed, couch, blanket, or other soft surface where they can overheat. Students learned how this applies to iPads, tablets, gaming devices, cell phones, electric toothbrushes, and other rechargeable devices.
They also got some hands-on learning as they toured the fire truck and ambulance, explored emergency equipment, and learned more about how our first responders help keep our community safe. Officer Boston was also on scene to help students learn about safety and emergency response.
We are very fortunate to have local first responders who take the time to educate our students and make Fire Safety Week memorable. Thank you for serving our community and investing in our kids! ❤️🚒🚑👮

What a way to bring science to life! 🌪️⛈️🔬 Wausa students had an awesome visit from Rob Holla of Storm Labs, who turned our gym into a hands-on science lab! Students learned about how storms work, air pressure, wind, clouds, and the forces behind severe weather through some pretty incredible demonstrations. From flying beach balls and giant bags of air to clouds, experiments, and plenty of student volunteers, Rob kept our students laughing, participating, and—most importantly—learning! A huge thank you to Rob Holla and Storm Labs for giving our students such a fun and memorable science experience. Judging by these pictures, science was definitely a hit! 💨🌩️ Learning is always a little more fun when you can see science in action! 💜💛 #WausaVikings #StormLabs #ScienceInAction #HandsOnLearning #WausaPublicSchools
